Review system requirements and business processes with internal customers; recommend and implement changes.
Manage the IT infrastructure within the organization, including the physical network (e.g., WAN/LAN, servers, terminals) as well as applications and software (e.g., SharePoint, IFS, Office 365, Windows 10, Apple iOS), and including laptop/desktop hardware, telephones, and the like.
Provide supplemental technical support including troubleshooting and maintenance of ERP and various networking technologies, system administration, laptop/desktop support, and handling support calls.
Here are some of our core capabilities:
- Establish, plan and administer the overall policies and goals for the information technology department. Develop long-term strategies to manage and scale secure, reliable IT efforts for the organization and perform change management to achieve this.
- Recommend and plan information technology to support and meet company objectives and user needs based on research and evaluation. Develop specifications, prototypes and user guides.
- Direct implementation and execution of a portfolio and programs of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
- Apply knowledge and experience with operations, quality management, governance and management, e.g. ISO/IEC 20000, ITIL, COBIT, business process management, to improve the organization. Apply knowledge and experience with software development lifecycle management.
- Evaluate and implement IT procedures, suppliers and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
- Maintain systems to protect data from unauthorized users. Identify, report, and resolve security violations. Apply knowledge and experience with security models such as ISO 27000 and NIST 800-171 to improve IT security.
- Ensure users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support/service.
- Develop and implement strategies for IT simplification, global standardization, and process excellence.
- Help business operations groups utilize information systems to automate processes and improve their efficiency.
- Lead and direct the work of others.
- Ensure timely response and follow through on all internal help desk inquiries.
- Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve problems for functional users.
- Ensure conformance to system architecture, standards and practices.
- Prepare and present project portfolio and project plans, status reports, cost / benefit studies and recommend funding and resources.
- Update and advise management on IT issues, performance and plans.
- Keep up to date with enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their use.
- Perform upgrade and maintenance work
- Structure, lead, train and develop IT staff for maximum effectiveness. Recruit and hire IT personnel. Provide performance feedback and mentoring to direct reports.
- Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance, including DoD FOCI restrictions and defense contractor security, AS9100, data privacy and all other applicable regulatory, legal and business environment requirements related to IT in the U.S. defense industry.
- Develop and maintain company IT contingency plans.
- Develop/select and conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
- Manage IT budget, staff, contractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with global organization to optimize IT systems and usage globally.
- Work closely with management for company operational alignment.
